Belle de Crecy is another classic rose that typifies the height of rose development in the early 19’Th century. The mauve blend flowers are still a classic today. Belle de Crecy stays a little smaller in height, and narrower in width than many of the other Gallicas. The foliage shows no signs of black spot or mildew in our Zone 5 gardens. Winterkill is rarely a problem, maybe just the tips of the newest growth. We wait all year for Belle de Crecy’s prolonged bloom in June.
