There are 2 basic types of Moss Roses, those that originated as sports in the Centifolia Class, and those that originated as sports of Damask Roses. The Centifolia type Moss Roses usually have softer green moss, and only bloom once. The Damask type Moss Roses have harder brown moss – like bristles on a brush, and can repeat bloom. Perpetual White Moss is a direct sport of Autumn Damask. It has all the characteristics of Autumn Damask only the flowers are white and they are heavily mossed. Perpetual White Moss makes an outstanding garden shrub.
