The large, very double flowers of Assemblage de Beautes are a welcome addition to the garden in June. The Gallicas seem to have 2 distinct growth habits. Some are lower with single canes that have some branching. The rest are more shrub like with branched spreading growth. Assemblage de Beautes is the more shrub like. The moderately fragrant flowers are borne in profusion through a long season in June. Like most Gallicas, the foliage remains clean with no evidence of disease for us. Winter hardiness is excellent.
